Bankruptcy, Workouts, & Creditors’ Rights

Through their decades of practice, our bankruptcy attorneys have earned their reputations as results-driven problem solvers. This is evident in the significant and complicated engagements our attorneys have successfully undertaken.

From taking on insolvent automotive suppliers who have threatened to shut down our client’s plants throughout the country, to multimillion-dollar acquisitions of assets out of bankruptcies, to high-stakes bankruptcy litigation, to complex real estate workouts, our attorneys have time and again proven themselves able to develop creative and practical solutions in order to deliver high satisfaction results to our valued clients.

Our clients appreciate the training and experience our insolvency attorneys gained at larger firms, tempered by the practical experience and focus they have obtained from starting and managing their own firm. We have found that this combination of backgrounds translates well to the clients we want to represent: clients who want and need “large firm” expertise, but in a leaner, more focused and responsive firm.

Being a boutique litigation and bankruptcy firm has been no barrier to our involvement in exceptionally large and complex matters. For example, recent engagements include:

  • Representation of the Liquidation Trustee of a bankruptcy estate with $600 million in liabilities, involving international litigation against various affiliates
  • Representation of the purchaser of assets of one of the largest solar power companies in the country
  • Representation of a large not-for-profit hospital in its restructuring and sale
  • Representation of many real estate developers in working out their substantial lender obligations
  • Representation of a significant creditor in one of the largest municipal bankruptcy cases in the United States

Beyond these high-profile cases, one of our core competencies is the representation of Tier One and Tier Two automotive suppliers. Our work for Tier One clients involves representing them when their Tier Two suppliers experience financial distress. Here we work to negotiate agreements that enable our clients to either efficiently exit the relationship or provide them assurance of supply on a long-term basis.

We also regularly sit on the other side of the table, representing Tier Two and Tier Three suppliers in restructuring their obligations to lenders, customers and vendors. Speed and results are what matter in these crisis situations, and our attorneys provide the kind of “drop everything” service our clients need and expect.

Our bankruptcy attorneys work extensively with other members of the firm in order to bring the highest level of responsiveness, commitment and expertise to every insolvency engagement. Brooks Wilkins Sharkey & Turco is uniquely positioned to provide quick and comprehensive solutions to the serious issues faced by our clients.
